FormatPro ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use the FormatPro Chrome Extension (the "Extension").

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or user data.

FormatPro operates entirely locally on your device within your browser. Because of this architecture:

  • No Analytics: We do not use analytics software or track your usage behavior.
  • No Data Transmission: We do not send any of your text, browsing history, or personal information to external servers, APIs, or third parties.
  • No Accounts: You are not required to create an account, log in, or provide any personal details to use the Extension.

2. Permissions and Data Access

To function correctly, FormatPro requests the following browser permissions:

  • Host Permissions: The Extension requires access to the webpage you are currently viewing solely to inject the formatting toolbar into text editors and apply the requested text formatting (bold, italic, etc.). The Extension modifies the DOM structure on your local machine but does not read, record, or transmit the content you type.
  • Storage: The Extension uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save your application settings (such as whether the extension or toolbar is currently enabled). This data remains strictly on your local device and is never synced to our servers.

3. Third-Party Services

FormatPro does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs that collect user data.

4. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and publishing the updated policy on this page.
